Adrian is a city in Bates County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,677 at the 2010 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.18 square miles (5.65 km²), of which, 2.09 square miles (5.41 km²) is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 km²) is water.Adrian was platted in 1880 when the Missouri Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. It was named by settlers who hailed from Adrian, Michigan.
