Why us in New York

Five boroughs, one moving company.

Same systems as our LA flagship — chain-of-custody barcodes, binding quotes, full-value insurance — but dispatched by people who actually know New York.

Manhattan walkup specialists

5th-floor prewar with narrow stairs, no elevator, 80-year-old radiators blocking the doorway—these are our bread and butter. Our crews know every classic NYC building layout and have the techniques to move you without scuffing the walls or losing hours to tight staircases.

Co-op and condo board coordinators

Building management, proof of insurance, elevator reservations, move-in windows—we handle all of it. We've navigated the Upper West Side's strictest co-op boards and the Williamsburg loft buildings' access schedules without a hitch.

Freight-elevator experts

High-rise buildings from Battery Park to the Upper East Side demand coordination and precision. Our dispatchers know every major building's loading protocols, window gates, and elevator downtimes.

Cross-borough logistics

Moving from a Tribeca loft to Sunset Park, or Astoria to Murray Hill—we route crews around MTA closures, street fairs, and rush-hour gridlock. Real-time dispatching means you stay on schedule even when the city doesn't.

All four services in New York

Local, long-distance, commercial, storage.

Whatever you're moving — across town, across the country, your whole office, or just the boxes you're not ready to unpack — same crews, same standards.

Real New York moves

What New York neighbors say.

Three of the 18,500+ moves we've completed in New York.

★★★★★
"We were moving a 4-bedroom from the Upper East Side to Park Slope on a Saturday. They quoted us 8 hours, wrapped it in 7:15, and handled the tight stairwell in the brownstone like they'd done it a thousand times. No dings, no drama."

★★★★★
"Midtown high-rise with a 2-hour move window and a co-op board watching every second. These guys showed up 15 minutes early, coordinated with building ops perfectly, and had us locked out by 1:45. Professional doesn't begin to cover it."

★★★★★
"Moving from a 3rd-floor walkup in the East Village to Williamsburg. We were dreading the stairs, but the crew took it in stride. Refrigerator up, couch through the door, and they even helped figure out where the tall bookshelf would fit. Great people."

Questions, answered

New York FAQ.

New York-specific questions. For general questions, see the local-moves FAQ.

ABC Movers shipping box — bright red carton with ABC MOVERS branding
Do you handle high-rise apartments, and do you know about building move-in windows?

Yes—that's most of our Manhattan work. We coordinate with building management, secure elevator time, and work within whatever windows your co-op or condo board sets. We've handled everything from the Upper West Side's strictest co-ops to Tribeca lofts and Financial District towers.

What about moving day parking and street restrictions in Brooklyn and Manhattan?

Our dispatchers monitor NYC parking rules, DOT work zones, and temporary street closures in real time. We factor it into your quote and reserve parking where needed. Some blocks tighten up fast on weekdays—we know which ones and plan accordingly.

Can you move me between the five boroughs, and what's the pricing difference?

Yes, we move all five boroughs daily. Cross-borough moves are quoted the same as any long-distance job—your crew size, distance, and any building delays determine price. The FDR Drive between Manhattan and Brooklyn might take 40 minutes instead of 10, but we factor that in upfront.

What if my building has no elevator and narrow staircases?

That's nearly every prewar building in the city—Alphabet City, Park Slope, Greenwich Village, Astoria, you name it. Our crews are trained to protect your belongings and the building. We disassemble furniture as needed, use padding and sliders, and take our time on tight turns. We'll even walk through tricky staircases before quoting if you're unsure about access.
